through the photographs of Bill Kenning, Dr. Jack Hollick, Peter Barlow and Adrian Vaughan
Something a bit different, Adrian Vaughan has combined his photographs with those taken by three like-minded predecessors to compile a railway romp around the varsity town and its outlying area. Bill Kenning's are the oldest, dating from the Edwardian period to the early 1920s. Then there is a selection of Jack Hollick material from the early 1930s. The Peter Barlow photos are mostly undated but appear to be post-war and the author's are from the 1960s to recent times. Locations include Kennington, Hinksey South, Yarnton, Wolvercot, and of course photo after photo of the many Oxford town and environs stations, signal boxes, and sidings as well as plenty of locomotives, interiors and more.
