From Woofferton to Bewdley DUE IN SOON

Completed in 1864, the line which ran between Woofferton and Bewdley consisted of two conjoined railways, the Tenbury Railway and the Tenbury and Bewdley Railway, which met at a short distance to the east of Tenbury (later Tenbury Wells) Station. As well as "improving" the district the combined railways were seen as a corridor for passengers and goods to move between the Welsh Marches and the West Midlands. When a connecting line between Bewdley and Kidderminster opened in 1878 access to the Black Country was further improved. The book comprises three chapters beginning with a lengthy one on the history, then another looking at the operation of the line, and ending with a description of the route. There is also an epilogue reflecting on the line's success (not as good as hoped), an appendix and an index.
