Bradford Railways in Colour Volume 2. The L&YR and GNR Lines

Following on from the first volume, we take another colourful look at the 1960s railway scene in Bradford and the surrounding area to the south with many pictures never seen in print before.

This second volume covers the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway and the Great Northern Railway networks to the south of the centre of Bradford including Low Moor and Wyke, Laisterdyke, Dudley Hill and Drighlington to the east.

Engine depots at Low Moor and Hammerton Street depict the facilities necessary to maintain locomotives.

The GNR lines from Laisterdyke to Shipley via Idle and the famous Queensbury route from St. Dunstans to Keighley are also significantly featured in this book.

Evocative images from the 1960s feature many examples of local and express passenger services as well as the huge volume of goods traffic that was handled by the various goods facilities across Bradford.
