Lead and stone have been worked locally since Roman times and a visit to Wirksworth

The Great Outdoors
The whole of the Peak District is a paradise for walkers and nature lovers but of
special interest are Millers Dale One of Derbyshire's Secrets-explore the site of one of the most important stations on the ex-MR Derby to Manchester line Poole's Cavern & country park at Buxton,together withTreak Cliff Cavern & Speedwell Cavern at Castleton.

Historic Houses
Several of the finest historic houses in the country are situated in Derbyshire with
Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall being only a short drive from Peak Rail.
Not much further and equally of interest are Eyam Hal,Tissington Hall and Renishaw Hall.If this is not enough then you can continue the theme of elegance with a visit to the Royal Crown Derby visitor centre.
